industrialbreakdown Although the tracks with vocals are very cool and have good lyrics, the production on this track is so good. The lyrics of this project make me feel less alone in my feelings about the US. Thank you <3 Favorite track: Afraid of the Dark.

One day you wake up and you notice it's all changed Don't know when or why it happened but you know nothing's the same Take a look around, do you recognize what you see After all the neighborhood just isn't what it used to be And deep inside you know that the world's left you behind It's dangerous out there, so you'd better stay inside Just grab yourself a hand grenade and pour yourself a drink And just listen while the TV screen tells you what to think It's just suicide of the American way And you're gonna die unless you do what we say There's a holy war on and you know who's to blame All your enemies are just one and the same I got the rage I got the rage Don’t look where we don’t want you to, just look at them instead Why even think about the rich when it’s the poor that want you dead Stock prices rise while the sacred dream dies So let yourself be blinded by the fire in your eyes They’ll bury you and they'll kill everyone you love They don’t just want your job, no, they want your fucking blood They’re the vicious parasites that left your life destroyed If they’re really out to get you, then you aren’t paranoid "This, then, is the enemy. Primitive, murderous, and fanatical. This war machine, this empire can be beaten. But make no mistake, for total victory we must make total sacrifice." We bring you now live footage of the end of a race When the prophets on cable news taught you to hate Don’t even ask us if we’re right or we’re wrong They’re right outside your door, and they’re a billion strong I got the rage I got the rage Are you afraid Of what's going on? Don't you wonder Where the real America's gone? You need a new dark Messiah for a new dark age Follow me, because I've got what you need (I got the rage) I got the rage I got the rage

"It must be the American way of doing things that makes you the luckiest guy in the world." "I don't think I'm so lucky!" You're not a slave You fly the red, white, and blue Those commie bastards Will never get their hands on you Oh yes, you’re free But you’ve got bills to pay So get to work It’s the American way You chose to come here So you don't get to complain You could just leave But every other place is the same So don't ask questions Just live your life in denial It's what you owe us Service with a fuckin smile You're not a person You're just a thing I've got your life Held by a string If you don't like it You're free to starve So shut your mouth And fucking march You’re so damn greedy Asking for minimum wage You should be grateful That you’re even getting paid Why do we owe you A roof over your head What do we care If you end up broke and dead Your time’s our money So quit living on our dime We’ll cut your throat If you so much as step out of line It’s not our problem That 9-to-5 ain’t enough If your life mattered You’d have been born rich like us You're not a person You're just a thing I've got your life Held by a string If you don't like it You're free to starve So shut your mouth And fucking march There is peace in war There is slavery in freedom There is strength in ignorance So fucking march

He always knows what he wants, he gets just what he desires He stands there praying for rain, while he's still setting the fires He keeps the cameras on, so you can get your cheap thrills He's got an eye for a deal, he's got a license to kill He's got the humanity of a barbed wire fence He's got more boots on the ground than any one president He can make you forget that you weren’t always his friend He was there at our birth, and he’ll be there at our end (Mr. Straightface) What makes you think we wanna fight in your war Don't you think we know what we're fighting for (Mr. Straightface) We’re not as blind as you wanna believe Because we’ve seen the price we pay for your greed He massacred all the tribes, lives off the fat of their land He sent us into Vietnam, and into Afghanistan He gunned us down at Kent State when we protested his plans He spies on you through his screens, he’s in the palm of your hand He throws us outside to die when we can’t afford the rent He’s there in full riot gear when we the people dissent He shoots us down where we stand, when we run in from the street He knows that he’ll always win, that he’ll never face defeat (Mr Straightface) We know who it is you protect and serve But after all you’ll get just what you deserve (Mr. Straightface) And we’re gonna see who stands tall and proud When the shouts for freedom ring just as loud (Mr. Straightface) You wanna think that we can’t see through your game That we don’t know you’re just one and the same (Mr. Straightface) But since you never bothered to heed our words The riot will be the voice of the unheard (Mr. Straightface) Just keep your mask on, cause we know it’s all fake And there’s only so much we’re gonna take (Mr. Straightface) Because when the revolution begins We won’t be the ones dying for your sins

"A few years ago, the only devices available to us were tiny microphones, which could be installed behind the walls or under the floor. To the unpracticed eye, there is nothing suspicious about this room. Nevertheless, these men, for all practical purposes, speaking directly into a microphone."

about

this ep was a solo effort by me over a couple of years. it wasn't continuous work, and a lot of the work went into side tracks that ended up not being on this ep but will probably appear on later releases. i could've spent my time endlessly tweaking the tracks but at some point i had to stop indulging my perfectionism and release something to have anything to show for the time i spent working on this, lol.

anyways, this ep is a look at the state of the world from where i'm at. capitalism, civil rights, the rise of authoritarianism. you know, fun stuff. my hope is that you can listen to the music and think about the message, but that you can also enjoy it as music to listen or dance to. -snow
